Marvin J. Jaixen, age 85, of Platte Center, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Marvin J. Jaixen was born August 10, 1930 in rural Platte Center, Nebraska to John and Eulalia (Mark) Jaixen. He attended St. Anthony Grade School in rural Platte County and graduated from Platte Center High in 1947. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He married Elaine German-Gibson on October 6, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. He worked part time as a postal clerk in Platte Center before working at the post office in Columbus as a night supervisor. He retired in 1985 with 31 years of service. Marvin was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center and the American Legion Parry Post #283. Marvin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cooking. He was a great role model and caregiver. He was always there for his family.
