Marvin Hanson, age 79, of Columbus died Monday at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Marvin Hanson was born August 11, 1930 in Inavale, Nebraska to Lawrence and Ruth (Martinson) Hanson. He graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1948. He then received his B.S in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He served in the Unites States Air Force from 1952 until 1954. Marvin married Wanda Ham on January 24, 1954 in Clay Center, Nebraska.
He taught vocational agriculture at Oakland High School before joining NC+ Seed as a salesman. He then worked for Allied Chemicals while living in Ceresco. Marvin deleveloped and patented a method for sun cured alfalfa pellets which he later sold to Higgins Mill in Schuyler. Marvin also taught vocational ag in Schuyler and helped set up the program at Northeast Comunity College in Norfolk. Other project included, producing educational film strips, developing alternative fuels and worked as a realtor for Farmers National. Marvin enjoyed the family farm where he was involved in raising wild game birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson Troy Schultz
