Martin &Quot;Junior&Quot; Valasek, Jr.

Martin "Junior" "Ace" Valasek of Columbus died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his home in rural Columbus.

Martin Valasek, Jr. was born October 4, 1926 in rural Columbus to Martin F. and Cecilia (Laska) Valasek, Sr. He grew up on the family farm in Polk County and attended Duncan Public School. Junior served in the US Army during the World War II. He returned to rural Columbus where he worked for Behlen Manufacturing as a welder. He also farmed. Junior was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed reading.
