Martin "Doc" Kresha, 79, of 2503-8th St. Columbus died Monday June 25, 2001 in Columbus, Ne of natural causes. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday June 29, 2001 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan, Ne., with Fr. David Korth and Fr. Bernard Berger officiating. Burial is at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Duncan, Ne. Visitation is from 3-5 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home and after 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Church. There will be a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service Thursday at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan.
Martin "Doc" Kresha was born April 9, 1922 in Polk County to Adolf & Eva (Karges) Kresha. He grew up and attended rural school in Polk County. Martin married Elaine Kneifel on June 14, 1960 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. He was raised and lived on the family farm until 1987 when he moved to Columbus. He worked as a farmer and veterinarian assistant. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1834, the Polk County Pork Producers, St. Stanislaus Church where he served in the Holy Name Society and was an usher, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #938. He enjoyed Bowling.
