Marlyn "Hike" Hendrickson, age 83, of Columbus died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island surrounded by family.
Marlyn was born March 21, 1930 in York, Nebraska to Cecil and Florence (Miller) Hendrickson. He spent most of his childhood in Humphrey and graduated from Humphrey High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Delores Dee Wisehart on September 13, 1952 at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. Marlyn joined the Navy in May 1948 and served until May 1952. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad on the bridge crew for many years and later worked for Pats Stores and Gerholds.
Hike enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren, hunting and fishing. After Dee passed he lived at the VA Center in Grand Island where he enjoyed drawing and the wood shop.
