Per her request, private family burial and services were held on October 14th  2024.

Marlene Brentzel, 89, of Columbus Nebraska passed away on September 21, 2024.  She was born in Columbus Nebraska in 1935 to parents Marvin and Catherine Elston (Boettcher).  She graduated from Columbus High School in 1953.  She married Charles Brentzel in 1953. Together they had one son Terry Brentzel, and raised a daughter Kara Elston.  Marlene spent her life helping others and always believed in being kind to everybody.  She loved kids-especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Best Friend John Braun of Columbus

Granddaughter Erin Callahan (Rob) of Woodbury MN

Granddaughter Alison Dillon  (Nick) of Grand Island NE

Grandson Ryan Brentzel (Taylor) of Landers WY

Great Grandchildren Kara, Lauren, Molly, Bobby, Kennedy and Nola.

Parents Marvin and Catherine Elston

Brothers: George, Charles, Clifford, James, Daniel, Richard and Larry-her loving brother Marvin passed just hours after her

Sisters: Paula Hildreth, Lorraine Berger, and Mitzi Bord
