Mark Rohde

Mark J. Rohde, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 12 ^th , 2020, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

There will not be a funeral service, his eternal ashes will be spread across the rolling sandhills of northern Nebraska, a place he always held dear.

He was born in 1954 in Texas to John and Fern Rohde.  He was a graduate of Upper Heaford High School in the United Kingdom, and lifetime learner of Platte College, and Central Community College systems.  Mark married Zena Voyek on March 20 ^th , 1982 in Ord.  Mark worked as a Tool Maker among other problem-solving tasks for 24 years with Appleton Electric in Columbus Nebraska. Mark volunteered for years with Columbus Chapter of Master Gardeners, AYSO, and various veteran groups.  Mark served on Active Duty in the US Army Logistics Branch from 1983 to 1986.  Mark enjoyed years of backpacking across Europe, swimming in the English Channel, cycling across Nebraska, and years of deer hunting here in Nebraska - a tradition which he passed down two generations and counting.

He is survived by his mother Fern, wife Zena, a brother Steve, a sister Anne, a long list of brothers and sisters- in-law, a son Bartholomew, a daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father John, and father-in law-Bill, who are enjoying sharing their military stories together again.
