Marjorie “Marge” Wilbur
May 13, 1937 – May 13, 2026
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend
Marjorie “Marge” Wilbur went Home to her Lord on May 13th, 2026, her 89th birthday, surrounded by a lifetime of love she had generously given away.
Per Marge's wishes, there will be no services.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Marge was shaped early by a strong faith and a warm, giving spirit. She attended St. Patrick Catholic Grade School and Lincoln Northeast High School, and in the years that followed, she built a life with her husband Bob that took the family across the country — from Idaho and Connecticut to Colorado and, ultimately, to Columbus, Nebraska, where she would spend her most cherished decades.
Wherever she lived, Marge made her presence felt. She was the first to volunteer, the last to leave, and the one people called when they needed a helping hand or a welcoming face. She was a Campfire Girls leader and PTA member, a Welcome Wagon ambassador and Jaycee Janes participant, and for 35 remarkable years, a devoted Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer in Columbus — serving in leadership almost every year and managing the gift shop and sew house with quiet, steady grace.
She raised her daughters Cindy and Linda with the same love and intention she brought to everything, and when the grandchildren came along, she embraced that role with her whole heart. She was present — at the games, in the backyard, in the garden, and on the lake in Minnesota every summer in her beloved kayak. To her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, she was simply Gram: the one whose love never wavered and whose door was always open.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia Rodzielski, her brother James, and her sister Eugenia Schaffhausen. She is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Cindy Sohl and Linda (Chester) Collins; grandchildren Christopher (Kristina) Wilkes-Wilbur, Joseph (Melissa) Collins, Rebecca Collins, and Brandon (Kaytlyn) Sohl; and great-grandchildren Maverick and Millie Wilbur, Eli and Tessa Collins, and Colt and Conner Sohl.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
— Proverbs 31:25
She loved well. She was loved well. And Heaven is sweeter for her presence.
