Marilyn Labenz of Norfolk, formerly of Humphrey, died Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the Heritage at Fountain Point in Norfolk.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Visitation is 3:00-5:00 p.m. followed by a 5:00 p.m. vigil service Sunday all at the church. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial is in the St. Francis Parish Cemetery.

Marilyn Labenz was born August 22, 1936, in Rising City to Fred and Georgia (Sandusky) Drawbaugh. She grew up in Butler County and graduated from Columbus High School in 1954. After graduating, Marilyn worked for a Savings & Loan Company in Columbus before moving to Sacramento, California in 1956. She then returned to Columbus in 1958. On April 4, 1959, Marilyn was united in marriage to Paul Labenz at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. The couple then lived together on the family farm near Humphrey. Marilyn was active in the extension club and served as a 4H leader. She was active in St. Francis Church, serving on the parish council and was a CCD teacher for many years. Marilyn also worked for Humphrey Public Schools in food service for 30 years.

Marilyn and Paul enjoyed taking bus trips together and spending time with all of their family and friends.
