Marilyn J. Becker

September 14, 1934 — December 24, 2013

Marilyn J. Becker passed away at home at 79 years of age on December 24, 2013, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was at home surrounded by her family when she went to sleep after an extended illness.

Marilyn was born at her parents home in Platte County on Sept 15, 1934. The family moved to Columbus where she graduated from Kramer High School in 1951.

Marilyn and Jim were longtime residents of Columbus, Nebraska where she was employed by Dale Electronics and Jim was an independent truck driver. They moved to Ohiowa, Nebraska to start a fertilizer business after which she worked at the Youth Development Center in Geneva, until she retired in 2001.

She has resided in Albuquerque since 2011. She sincerely appreciated the many calls, letters and visits from family and friends. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sister Doris Van Diest; sister in law Fern Evans; children Deborah J. Swager and Dean B. Swager, Susan K. Kreft and Jay L. Kreft, Jay D. Becker and Kristie S. Becker; 9 grandchildren Dana C. Swager, Dena L. Serros, Dawna G. Carroll, Deona M. Swager, June A. Kreft, Jason L. Kreft, Jerrid D. Becker, Matthew C. Becker, Kyle R. Becker; 14 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Genevieve Evans; her husband Jimmy Dean Becker; siblings Jean Tessendorf and Donald Evans.
