Marie Breese

Marie Breese of Columbus died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Marie Breese was born June 18, 1925 in Leigh, NE to Adolph "Max" and Bertha (Bade) Wahl. Growing up Marie attended District 46 schools and helped on the family farm. Marie worked in the nursery at the Columbus Hospital. On January 25, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert Breese at Good Shepherd Church in Columbus. Robert and Marie studied extensively to take a Missionary post in India. They were there for 3 years where Marie continued to work in hospitals and orphanages. She returned to Columbus and returned to nursing. In 1971 she received her LPN. Marie worked at Columbus Community Hospital and at the Columbus Manor until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbus and Faith Lutheran in Rising City. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, animals, her church activities, and being with her family and friends.
