Marian Griffiths

Marian Ione Griffiths, 84, of Columbus died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Rev. Cindi Stewart officiating. Visitation begins on Friday from 5-7pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues on Saturday morning from 9-10 am at the church.

Marian Griffiths was born January 29, 1935 in Ansley, Nebraska to Victor and Grace (Farris) Stahl. She graduated from Kramer High School in 1952. Marian married John Griffiths on June 18, 1953 in Columbus.

Before her marriage, Marian worked at the newspaper. Following her marriage, she belonged to the Behlen Auxiliary and helped with the Behlen cafeteria. After her husband left Behlen's in 1970, they began a livestock hauling business. Marian managed the Griffiths Livestock Trailer Washout for several decades.

Marian enjoyed gathering with family and friends, playing cards, gardening, and most recently Bingo. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church where she had previously taught Sunday school and was a scouting leader. Marian was also active with 4-H.
