Margaret E. Witt passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Margaret Witt was born June 21, 1927 in Monterey, NE to Henry and Anna (Batenhorst) Knobbe. She graduated from Guardian Angel High School in West Point in 1945. On August 25, 1948 Margaret was united in marriage to Burnell J. Witt at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Monterey. The couple lived in West Point and Howells NE before moving to Columbus, NE in 1961. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Perpetual Adoration, C.D.A. and was a volunteer at the rectory.
She is survived by daughters Joan Witt of Columbus, Janice (Tim) Sommers of Arvada, CO and Colleen (Bob) Lange of Omaha; sons Dan (Teresa) Witt of Omaha, Gary (Molly) Witt of Omaha, and Norman Witt of Shelby and daughter-in-law Lisa (Joel) Long of Omaha. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister Joletta Mejstrik and brothers Jerome and Richard Knobbe.
She is preceded in death by parents Henry and Anna Knobbe, husband Burnell Witt, sons Gene and David Witt, daughter-in-law Mary Witt, sisters Olivia Emanuel, Rita Foy, Dorothy Nebuda, Verena Mendlik and LaVern Faltin and brothers Dennis and Art Knobbe.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials preferred to St Bonaventure Church or Scotus Central Catholic High School.
