Mardell Knudsen, age 92, of Columbus died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Morys Haven in Columbus.
Mardell was born September 19, 1921 in Pierce, Nebraska to Gus and Hattie (Pollet) Mauer. She grew up on the farm near Pierce. Mardell married Herman Henrichs in 1939. The farmed near Pierce until moving to Stanton. In 1948 they bought a farm near Norfolk where they continued to live until Hermans death in 1956. Mardell then moved into Norfolk. She married Joy "Toby" Knudsen and continued living in Norfolk until his death in 1998 when she joined her daughter Judy in Columbus. Mardell enjoyed her dogs, cooking and was especially known for her potato salad
She is survived by:
Daughter Judy Ewald of Columbus
6 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Herman and Toby, son: Leon Henrichs
