Marcia Warnecke of Columbus died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Saturday, June 26 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment will be at later date in the Silver Creek Cemetery
Marcia Warnecke was born July 12, 1940 in St Edward, NE to Fred and Loretta (Campain) Meyer. She grew up on the farm by Silver Creek and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1957. She attended college in Norfolk for pre-nursing before attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center for Nursing. While in Norfolk, Marcia met the love her life and the romance began. In 1960, Marcia married James Warnecke in Norfolk at the Methodist Church. Following their marriage, they lived in Norfolk for a short time before moving to Columbus. Marcia raised her family and worked at Dale Electronics, D&L, Jackson Cleaners, and retired from Becton-Dickinson in 2000. Marcia enjoyed her family, sewing, canning, gardening, and raising her children and grandchildren. Marcia was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Legion Auxiliary.
