Marcella I. Slusarski, age 84, of Duncan, Nebraska died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Funeral Services are 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Reverend Rod Kneifl officiating. Visitation is 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and after 6:00 p.m. Sunday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In consideration of the holiday season there will be no funeral dinner following the services.
Marcella was born October 19, 1923 on her parent's farm near Duncan, Nebraska. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On October 30, 1944 Marcella was united in marriage to Ted L. Slusarski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. She farmed with her husband and also worked for Becton-Dickinson in Columbus. Marcella was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and St. Ann's Society. Marcella enjoyed needlework, crossword puzzles, visiting casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
