Mae Walter

Mae Hisako Nishimori Walter, age 82, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at her home in Columbus.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the First United Methodist Church of Columbus.

Mae was beloved in her community for her passion towards animals, gardening and helping others.  Her son recollects a time when she was terminated for defending a doctor with a different cultural background from hospital administration. She was always advocating and supporting the underprivileged. Mae was heavily involved with her church and the family thanks the church members for rallying around her during her end days, they were invaluable.

She is survived by:

Son: Ethan K. Nishimori
Step-Children: Jeanette Babcock, David Walter, Virginia Franz and James Walter
