M. H. &Quot;Bart&Quot; Bartholomew, Jr.

Bart passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at his home in Columbus following a brief illness.

Bart was born November 13, 1932 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to M.H Bartholomew, Sr. and Golda Pestinger Bartholomew. His youth was spent in Beatrice, Nebraska. Following graduation he joined the Navy and proudly served during the Korean War.
Bart graduated from Peru State Teachers College in 1962 and accepted a teaching and coaching position with the Columbus Public Schools where he had the privilege of working with young people for 30 years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed 23 years of golfing, hunting and most especially working at the Mark Nyffeler farm. He married Cecilia Witty on August 31, 1956. Bart was a member of the Federated Church. Life was good for Bart. He loved his family, his friends and his work.

Grandchildren: Tara (Scott) Stecklein of Topeka, KS; Samantha (fiance Evan Pichler) Zabawa of Omaha, NE; Elizabeth Zabawa of Columbus, NE; Bart Shaddy and Dan Shaddy both of Eden Prairie, MN
Sister: Carol Bartlett of Lincoln, NE

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Federated Church, Platte County Food Pantry or Donors Choice
