Luella C.Smith, 91, of Columbus died Thursday, August 19, 2004 in her room at the Columbus Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit where she has lived for the past two years. Funeral services are 10:00 am Monday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Weisbecker officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Monday from 8-9:30 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in Columbus Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation or donors choice.

Luella Catherine Smith was born June 14, 1913 in Columbus, Nebraska to Joseph P. and Louise (Coupons) Soulliere. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in Platte Center in 1930. She then graduated from the American Business College in Omaha. She married Glenn E. Smith on August 29, 1933 in Portland, Oregon. Luella and Glenn were partners in the family's business, Smith Dairy, located in southeast Columbus. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Luella was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, St. Bonaventure Guild, a past member of PTA at Field School, past President of the Columbus Fire Department Auxiliary, and past President of the Nebraska Fire Department Auxiliary. Luella was an avid bridge player and enjoyed bowling and gardening.

She is survived by:
