Lucille Sobotka, age 86, of Columbus, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2019 at McKown Funeral Home. The Vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is at All Saints Cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Lucille Beatrice Sobotka was born August 28, 1932 in Stuart, Nebraska to Frank and Pearl Vietta (Yarges) Jauernig.
She married Leo Sobotka on February 22, 1955, in O'Neill, Nebraska where she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone. After her transfer to Norfolk, her daughter Carol was born in 1956. She continued working for Northwestern Bell (GTE) while transferring to Columbus where she worked for 30 years as an operator and in the switch room. Tom was born in Columbus in 1958. Lucille was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a past member of the St. Bonaventure Guild. She began a ministry of organizing and serving funeral meals for fellow parishioners at St. Bonaventure Parish for close to 20 years. She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending Husker football games, playing cards and attending her grandchildren's functions. Lucille and Leo travelled extensively throughout the United States, visiting all lower 48 states.

Grandchildren: Sandra (Brian) Kaup of Lincoln; Julie (Michael) Tveit of Kearney; Josh (Malissa) Becker of Norfolk; Jason (Jenna) Sobotka of Omaha; Sarah Sobotka of Colorado Springs; Nicole Sobotka of Denver
Great Grandchildren: Hartley, Joel, Keaton, Mia, Colt, Jaxon, Talon, Hudson
Brothers: Frank Donald Jauernig and Marvin Arnold Jauernig both of Stuart
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Leona Kramer
