Lowene Jackson died Tuesday, September 2 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Lowene was born March 6, 1917, in Humphrey, Neb. to Roy and Louisa Hall. She attended St. Francis High School and graduated from Norfolk Business College. After graduating she went to work as a bookkeeper for Jackson Dry Cleaners and Launderers, where she met her husband Lee C. Jackson. They were married Oct. 8, 1937. Lowene was a talented musician, playing the piano and organ entertaining diners at popular Columbus restaurants. She will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, wit and wisdom, love of nature, living at the lake, and most of all for her great interest in the lives of her loved ones.
Lowene is survived by her children, Judith Ann Jackson (Ken Schmitz) of Cottage Grove, Minn.; Connie Lowene Lambert (Philip) of Maplewood, Minn.; and Jay James Jackson (Kathy Marie) of Columbus; 13 grandchildren, Vicki Marie Maca, Torri (Dwayne) Obermiller, Terri (Kirk) Hanna, Tom (Lori) Jackson, Lindy Fury, Bradley (Julie) Grubaugh, Michael (Laura) Modrow, Macie (Andy) Yates, Mollie (Joshua) Saunders, Jesse (Wendy) Jackson, Nikki Jackson, Jason (Kelly) Jackson, Justin Jackson and 17 great grandchildren.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Lee, son, Terry and sister, Edith Nichols.
