Louise Nyffeler

Louise Nyffeler, age 87 of Columbus, died Monday, December 9, 2019 at Emerald Care and Rehab in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. Visitation is Friday 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 vigil service at the church. Visitation will continue Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church.  Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Louise Elizabeth (Ernst) Nyffeler was born December 25, 1931 in Columbus to Peter and Gertrude (Lordemann) Ernst. Louise received her education at St. Bonaventure High School. She married Roy Nyffeler on June 21, 1958 at St. Bonaventure Church. Louise worked as bookkeeper for Columbus Trailer Sales which later became Rich and Sons Camper Sales in Columbus and Grand Island. She also worked as a tax preparer for Scow, Kuhlman, Rief, and Kruse.

Louise was a member of St. Stanislaus Church where she had previously served on the Parish Council. She was a member of St. Anne's Society, the Evening Belles Extension Club, and the Twice Blessed Mother of Twins Club. Louise was recognized for her years of volunteering. She received the Columbus Morning Rotary Club Service Above Self Award and on April 21, 2016 she received the Care Champion Award from Columbus Community Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing, gardening, casinos, reading, walking, and needlepoint. Louise loved all of her grandchildren and following their activities.
