Maxine Narans (Frieze) of Columbus died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Morys Haven in Columbus.
Maxine was born February 24, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO to Clifton and Mary Ethel (Moore) Russell. She lived in Council Bluffs, IA and Columbus, NE. Maxine worked in the Iowa School Dietary Departments and at Dale Electronics. She married Leonard Narans in 1943 in St. Joseph, MO. Leonard passed away in 1963 and she later married Eugene Frieze in 1973.
Maxine had previously served as the President of the Eagles Auxiliary in Columbus in 1969-1970 and was an avid bowler. She was the top bowler at Morys Haven and was selected as the Morys Sweetheart Queen of 2016. Maxine loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, and was a member of quilting and card clubs. She also worked as a hospital volunteer in Council Bluffs, IA as well as the Columbus Hospital.
