Lorraine Kuta, 88, of Plainview, formerly of Columbus died Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Plainview Manor in Plainview. Services are 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Visitation is on Monday after 4 pm at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues on Tuesday from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Lorraine Marie Kuta was born March 19, 1917 in Belgrade, NE to Stanley and Emma (Zipper) Swolek. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School. Lorraine continued her education at Doane College. She married Alfred Kuta on November 22, 1944 in Columbus. She worked as an inspector for Becton-Dickinson for a short time before owning and operating 3 restaurant businesses in Columbus for the majority of her adult life until she retired. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Lorraine loved to paint, playing various musical instruments, flower gardening, and taught tap dancing.
