Lorraine Iwan of Columbus died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Mory's Haven in Columbus.
Lorraine Rose Iwan was born August 27, 1918 in Osceola, NE to James and Jane (Smolenski) Zelasney. She grew up on the family farm in rural Duncan and received her education at schools in rural Osceola. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Church-Pilsno. She married Henry Iwan on October 10, 1938 at St. Mary's-Pilsno. Lorraine worked along side of Henry farming, milking cows, and raising five children in rural Duncan and Genoa. While at Genoa, she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church where she was involved and held offices with the St. Rose of Lima Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, raising poultry, auctions, and the food network channel. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
