Lori Diersen of Leigh, NE passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at her home in Leigh, with family by her side.
Lori Louise Diersen was born on October 17, 1965 in Columbus, Nebraska, the daughter of Ralph and Marge Czuba. She was educated and graduated from high school at Scotus Central Catholic High School. On March 18, 2000, she married Mark Diersen in Columbus.
Survivors include her husband Mark Diersen, her son, Ben Knopick of Columbus, five sisters, Rosie (Ken) Fleeman of Columbus, Pat (Marv) Inselman of Bellevue, Mary Loveless of Omaha, Jean Czuba of Omaha, Karen (Mark) DeSandro of Omaha, two brothers, Charles Czuba of Seattle, WA, and Tim Czuba of Fort Detrick, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marge Czuba, and brother-in-laws, Jim Steckleberg and Richard Loveless.
Lori was a devoted wife and mother. She had been employed for many years at Hy-Vee Food Store in Columbus. She brought smiles to her co-workers and customers with her fun-loving sense of humor and laughter. She liked spending time outdoors in the sun on their acreage outside of Leigh. Her favorite dog, Snickers, gave a lot of love and was loved. She enjoyed shopping at the mall even if she didn't buy anything, cooking, playing golf, bowling, playing board games and shooting pool. She especially loved making others laugh and smile with her playful teasing and witty banter.
She was a woman of faith in Jesus Christ. She was known for her giving and selfless spirit, always putting others needs in front of her own. The grace and courage she displayed was an inspiration to many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family.
