Lorene Kallenbach

Lorene died peacefully, September 12, 2019 at Butler County Hospital in David City, Nebraska with her family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bellwood. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at St. Peters Church. There will be a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Monday evening also at the church. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Bellwood Cemetery.

Lorene Elizabeth (Schmit) Kallenbach born October 27, 1936, at home east of Bellwood, Nebraska to Peter J. and Gertrude C. (Sims) Schmit. She married Dean A. Kallenbach on August 6, 1955 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bellwood, Nebraska. Lorene retired from BD after many years of service. Lorene was a woman of great faith who loved to sing at church, make rosaries and play cards. She enjoyed attending kids and grandkids' events. She loved to travel and was an avid Husker fan.

She is survived by children: Son - Ron & Deb (Seda) Kallenbach of Columbus
Grand Children: Chelsea Kallenbach of Columbus; Benjamin & Katie (Andel) Kallenbach of Perry, IA; Son - Dennis & JuLee (Kuhnel) Kallenbach of Valley Grand Children:  Kerry Kallenbach of Valley;  Renee & Kyle Stewart of Wahoo;  Aubree & Jerad Kava of York; Son - Marty & Mary (Serio) Kallenbach of Little Rock, Arkansas   Step-Grand-Children:  Felice (Braxton) & Greer Flake of Tampa, Florida;  Lynnette (Braxton) & Don Jack III of Little Rock, Arkansas; Daughter -Judy & Jeff Vandenberg of Seward; Grand Children: Jeffrey Jr. & Kelly (Newsome) Vandenberg of Omaha;  Jennifer (Vandenberg) & Curt Thomas of Lincoln;  Josh & Shelly (Besch) Vandenberg of Omaha; Son - Jim & Cindy (Beringer) Kallenbach of David City; Grand Children:  Kylee & Chris Carsten Columbus; Adam Kallenbach of Omaha, Alex Kallenbach of Omaha; Daughter - Lori Kallenbach of Bellwood; Son -Todd & Maria (Millsap) Kallenbach of Seward;  Step Grand-children: Michael Millsap of Tokyo, Japan,  Jesse Millsap of San Diego, California;  Josh & Paulina Millsap of Seward,  Billy Millsap of Fortaleza Brazil, Tommy Millsap of Seward; Son - Kenny & Janet (Peters) Kallenbach of Bellwood; Great Grandchildren:  Kaylen & Nora Stewart, Gavin & Anna Kava, Tucker & Taylor Vandenberg, Emery & Dalton Thomas;  Cooper, Kason, Kendrey Carsten;  Step Great Grandchildren: Jacob Gates of New Orleans, LA, Don Jack IV of Little Rock Arkansas;  Sarah Millsap of Seward; Brother: Orville Schmit of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by: Husband– Dean and son- Cory, Parents – Peter & Gertrude Schmit; Step-mother – Rose (Kozisek) Schmit;  Sister- Dorothy (Schmit) Moyer, Brothers – Eugene & Donald Schmit

Memorials are suggested to: St. Peters Catholic Church- Bellwood, Aquinas Music Department, Lincoln Catholic Charities-St. Gianna House.
