Lois J. Dohmen, 81, resident of Columbus, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Monday, October 28, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. vigil service, all at the church. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
Lois J. Dohmen was born in Lindsay, Nebraska on November 22, 1942, to James and Viola (Keller) Formanek. She graduated from Lindsay Holy Family High School in 1960. Lois was united in marriage to George Dohmen on January 6, 1962. The couple started their family in Lindsay and then moved to Amarillo in 1979 and then settled in Columbus in 1980. They were long time members of St. Isidore Church. Lois enjoyed traveling, music and Christmas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids and attending family gatherings.
She is survived by:
Husband George of Columbus; daughter Debi (Scott) Mundt of Chicago, IL; sons Robert (Lisa) of Colorado Springs, CO; Dennis (Carol) of Platte Center; Rick (Madonna) Fort Collins, CO; Brian (Mary) of Lincoln; 10 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Sister Shirley (Dave) Jarecki and brothers Larry Formanek and James (Theresa) Formanek.
