Lillian C. Meedel, age 88, of Columbus, Nebraska died Monday, September 24, 2007 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at St. Luke's UCC in Columbus with Pastor Jan Kline officiating. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Gruetli Cemetery near Monroe, Nebraska.
Lillian was born February 2, 1919 in Gruetli near Monroe, Nebraska to George and Ida (Lemp) Tiaden, Sr. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On October 12, 1940 she was united in marriage to Milton Meedel in Gruetli. Lillian was a homemaker and farmed with her husband south of Monroe. In September 2003 she moved to Crown Villa in Columbus. Lillian was a member of St. Luke's UCC and Rhoda Circle. Some of the most memorable moments of her life were spent with her friends at Crown Villa. She will be fondly remembered for her cooking and homemade bread.
