Leonard Robak

Leonard Robak, age 83, of Columbus died Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Osceola Good Samaritan Center. Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation is Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening also at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning 8-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Duncan, Nebraska.



Leonard P. Robak was born December 24, 1921 in Fullerton, Nebraska to John and Theofilia (Stanczyk) Robak. He graduated from Fullerton High School, St. Paul Business College and Capital Radio and Engineering Institute in Washington, D.C. Leonard served in the United States Army during WWII from July 1942 until March 1945. He married Pauline Thomas on November 5,1944 at McClellan Air Force Base, Sacramento, California. They made their home in Silver Creek and Duncan before moving to Columbus in 1996. Leonard was a farmer, business man and worked at various jobs before retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 4832-Clarks, NE and Hartman Post #84 American Legion-Columbus, NE. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
