Leonard A. Bryant, age 77, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Columbus Community Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Reverend Dr. Paul L. Rowoldt officiating. There will be no visitation. Military Rites will be conducted by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.
Leonard A. Bryant was born February 20, 1930 in Tryon, Nebraska to Leonard and Ara (Capers) Bryant, Sr. He grew up and attended school in North Platte, Nebraska. Leonard joined the U.S. Army in 1947 and served two tours in Korea. He married JoAnn Martin on November 21, 1951 in Alameda, California. In 1968 Leonard retired from the Army and moved to Columbus where he worked at Excel for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, remodeling and was a rock hound. Leonard loved his family and enjoyed cooking for them. He was a man of strong moral beliefs. He was a hard worker and loved helping others with their projects.
