Leona D. Vavak

Leona died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Mory's Haven in Columbus.

Leona D. "Toody" Vavak was born June 6, 1928 in Howells, Nebraska to Joseph and Marie (Bulin) Koren. She graduated from Howells High School. Leona married Howard Vavak on May 15, 1953 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple lived in David City for many years. Leona worked for various nursing homes in the area and also did in home care for many years. She also cooked at the New World Inn, Husker House, Morys Haven, Cottonwood House and worked at the Muffin Shop for years. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Leona enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends.
