Leona I. Miller, age 86, of David City, Nebraska formerly of Columbus died Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Federated Church in Columbus with Reverends Elizabeth Parker and Vance Miller officiating. Visitation is 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial is in the Columbus Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Columbus Food Pantry or to the donor's choice.
Leona I. Miller was born July 28, 1920 in Salina, Kansas to Robert and Hazel (Allen) Lamer. She graduated from Salina High School in 1938. On January 10, 1947 Leona was united in marriage to Vance Paul Miller in Springfield, Illinois. The couple moved to Columbus in 1977. Leona was a homemaker and a member of the Federated Church, Federated Women's Fellowship, Harmony Chapter 12, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Jolly Wagon, Lioness and the Columbus Christian Women's Club.
