Leon Williams

Leon Williams of Columbus died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Meridian Gardens in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Thursday, October 24, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Heithoff officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Thursday from 8:30-10:00 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Francis Leon Williams was born April 1, 1919 in Arapahoe, NE to Maurice and Mary (Carrico) Williams. He was raised and received his education in Grand Island. In 1941 Leon entered the US Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant in the medical corp during World War II. Following his time in the service, Leon attended Marquette University. He married Cecilia Ritter on December 31, 1956 in Parkston, SD. Leon owned and operated the Williams Brothers and Fashion Fab for over 30 years. He retired in 1985.

Leon was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 4 ^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, being a businessman but the true love of his life was his wife, Cecilia.
