Leo E. Janssen, age 90, of Columbus, Nebraska died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2005 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Reverend Dr. Paul Rowoldt officiating. Burial is in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at McKown Funeral Home.

Leo E. Janssen was born August 19, 1915 in rural Platte Center to Otto and Sena (Eden) Janssen. He attended District School near Platte Center. He married Gloria Stone on June 9, 1939 in David City, Nebraska. The couple was married for 55 years. Leo served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 - 1945. Leo lived in Columbus where he worked for Johansen Construction as a finish carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors and his family.
