Leo J. Csukker passed away Saturday, July 11,2026, surrounded by his family, at his home in Columbus, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Fairfax, MN. 

Leo was born May 11,1937, in New Ulm, MN to John and Louise (Waibel) Csukker. The family lived on the farm in Fairfax where Leo lived most of his life. He attended elementary school at St. Andrew’s Catholic School in Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1955. On November 7,1964, he married Doris Fromm. Together they raised three sons, John, Robert, and Ronald.

Leo was a farmer and lived on the same farm for 87 years before he and Doris moved to Columbus, Nebraska to be closer to their two sons and their families. He enjoyed attending old time threshing shows, listening to polka music, and in retirement, he and Doris enjoyed wintering in Alabama. They also enjoyed visiting family and friends. Leo and Doris were blessed with 61 years of marriage. He was a devout husband, father, grandfather and recently great grandfather.

Leo was a devout Catholic his whole life and was a man of deep faith and prayer. He was a life-long member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Doris, sons John and wife Eileen Csukker of Shelby, Nebraska, Robert and wife Kelli Csukker of Columbus, Nebraska, grandson Matthew Csukker, step grandsons Michael and Patrick (Laura) Schaecher, daughter-in-law Gina Csukker of Delphos, Ohio and grandchildren Jake, Ellie (fiancé Max), and Grant (Lauren) Csukker and great grandchild Travis Csukker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws John and Agnes Fromm, and his son Ronald.
