Leland Shemek

Leland J. Shemek, age 78, of Columbus died Tuesday February 2, 2010 at the Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Leland J. Shemek was born January 29, 1932 in Platte County, Nebraska to James and Helen (Startz) Shemek. He served in the National Guard from 1950-1955. He then served in the United States Army from 1956-58. Leland graduated from Columbus High School. Leland worked at Roger Motors, later Trowbridge Motors for 45 years. He was a member of the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years, American Legion, Eagles Club and St. Isidore Catholic Church.
