Lee died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Leland "Lee" Larsen was born September 30, 1923 in Marquette, Nebraska to Harold and Ida (Danhauer) Larsen. He attended school in Marquette. Because of his love for riding horses Lee left school at age 15 and moved to Columbus where he lived and worked for M.H. Van Berg. While in Columbus he met Mildred Poole. The couple traveled the horse race circuit together and while in Chicago were married on October 24, 1953. In 1956 they moved back to Columbus where Lee worked for Becton-Dickinson for 26 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Eagles Club. Lee loved horses, dancing, fishing, yardwork and spending time with his grandchildren.

Son: Dolan (Bonnie) Larsen of Columbus, NE and their children Nikki (Jon) Preister, Kara Larsen and Joey Larsen
Daughter: Penny (Rick) Johnson of Columbus, NE and their son Bill (Angie) Johnson
Sister: Vivian (Ole) Alberts of Aurora, NE
5 Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Payton, Jena Kirstine; Cade & Rylie Preister
