Lawrence H. Fricke, age 89, of Columbus, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home.
Lawrence was born December 12, 1927 near Rising City, Nebraska to George W. and Sophia (Oldigs) Fricke. He received his education at Pleasant Hill, Immanuel Lutheran School and David City High. He graduated from Rising City High in 1945. He married Phyllis Mae Gill on April 29, 1949. He entered the Army in 1952 and served until 1954. Lawrence farmed near Surprise until moving to Columbus. He worked for Behlen Mfg., Gehring Construction and White Glove Cleaning Company which he later owned and operated until retirement. Lawrence married Norma June Wright on February 14, 1991 in Columbus. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church since September 1954 where he served as a Deacon, usher and Sunday School Superintendent. Lawrence enjoyed going to church. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, puzzles and spending time with his family.
