Laverna Van Dyke

LaVerna passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

LaVerna Matilda Van Dyke, the daughter of Bernard and Theresa (Borer) Wiese, was born December 24, 1927 in Lindsay, Nebraska. She received her education at Holy Family Catholic School in Lindsay. On April 24, 1951, LaVerna was united in marriage to Vernon Van Dyke at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay. LaVerna worked as a capper at Dale Electronics for 25 years. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and numerous volunteer groups. She especially enjoyed serving as a teacher's aide for the Kindergarten classes at St. Isidore School.

LaVerna will always be remembered as a devout Catholic woman. Her strong personal faith in God never left her, even during the last difficult years of her life. There is certainly a very special place for her in Heaven.
