Laurence Hassebrook

Laurence E. Hassebrook, age 92, of Columbus died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at his home in Columbus. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Bible Baptist Church in Columbus. Pastor Robert Walker will officiate. Burial will be in the Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home and 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.



Laurence E. Hassebrook was born April 29, 1914 in White, South Dakota to William and Sena (Hulsebus) Hassebrook. He grew up in White and Toronto South Dakota. In 1930 he graduated from Brookings High School. He moved to Platte Center where he farmed with his father. He was married to Katherine Krammer on October 20, 1945 in Columbus, Nebraska. He also drove a produce truck, worked security at Behlen Manufacturing and D&L. He later owned and operated Silver Electronics in Columbus.

Sister: Evelyn Brunken of California
Brother: Harold (Alvera) Hassebrook of Columbus, NE
Grandsons: Christopher & Tim Hassebrook



He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law: Frankie Brinkman on March 8, 2007.
