Larry "Butch" Staroscik

Larry "Butch" Staroscik, age 76, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday. February 1, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Larry "Butch" Staroscik was born October 9, 1942 in Columbus, NE to Louis and Betty (Stillinger) Staroscik. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1960. In 1965, Butch graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. After a brief employment, he was called home to Columbus to assist with his grandfather's horse stable. This was the beginning of his lifelong horse training career. Butch loved his horses, Nebraska football, and the Yankees. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Butch was on the Board of Director's for the HPBA for 16 years and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
