Larry Rosenthal, age 91, of Platte Center, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Veterans Home in Norfolk.
Larry Rosenthal was born September 5, 1922 in Lindsay, Nebraska to Joseph and Belbina (Zouha) Rosenthal. He grew up in the St. Paul area. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad before entering the Army. He served during World War II and was wounded during the Battle of The Bulge. He received many battle awards including the Bronze Star. Larry married Dorothy Jarecki on September 23, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. They owned and operated Larrys Mobil and later Rosenthal Oil which he operated for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Knight of Columbus and the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, cards, fishing and working around the house.
