Larry Layher of Omaha, formerly of North Platte died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Larry was born December 29, 1936 in St. Paul, NE to Lloyd and Jane (Ihnen) Layher. He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1955. Larry worked at the newspaper in Cedar Rapids before moving to Omaha where he worked for a Burial Vault company. Then he moved to Columbus where he worked as a butcher. He married Margaret Cruise on October 27, 1963. They moved to North Platte in 1964 where Larry owned and operated the OK Tire Store until 1984 when he retired. After retirement, Larry worked at the Golden Spike in North Platte. He was a member of the Methodist Church in North Platte and a Mason. Larry enjoyed gardening and spending time with others.
