Larry "Animal" Ernst died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Larry "Animal" Ernst was born April 15, 1953 in Columbus to Lloyd and Norma (Tredway) Ernst. Animal attended and graduated from Columbus Lakeview High School in 1972. After high school, Animal had many jobs including working construction for Lyman Richey, driving truck for Fisher Enterprises and hauling ready-mix for Gerhold's. He was also a one-time bar owner of the Animal House bar in Platte Center. Animal enjoyed racing, Husker football, spending time with his family, and cruising Ernst Lake in his golf cart.

Grandchildren: Quinten Birkel, Cameron Birkel, Hunter Birkel, Evelyn Birkel, Stormy Ernst, Taja Ernst, Cory Ernst, Caleb Egger, Noa Rutten, Annabella Egger and a great granddaughter Charlee Birkel
