Larry Bray

Larry Bray, age 72, of Columbus, went home to Jesus on Monday July 21, 2014 at his home following a brave battle with lung cancer.

Larry was born December 1, 1941 in Columbus, Nebraska to Kye and Evelyn (Bauman) Bray. He graduated from Columbus High School and earned his Associates Degree in accounting at Northeast Community College. In his early days Larry worked in Alaska during the development of the Alaskan pipeline while employed in sales for Behlen Manufacturing. He then served full time with the National Guard as Supply Staff Sergeant in Columbus. Upon retirement from the National Guard in 2001, Larry joined Colleen at Givens-Bray Appraisal until his retirement in 2010. Larry married Barb Hellbusch in 1964 and to this union Rick Bray and Sandra Bray were born. Larry was later united in marriage to Colleen Givens March 3, 1990. They are members of 1C Mission Church in Columbus.

Hobbies included classic show cars. Larry was a member of the Kingsmen Car Club. More recently Larry's passion was being on his ATV on the Loup River. He also enjoyed landscaping, vacationing in Cabo San Lucas with his friends, and Husker football.

Larry is survived by his wife Colleen; son, Rick (Tierry) Bray of Omaha; daughter, Sandra Bray of Columbia, SC; son, Chris Givens (Crystal Alexander) of Columbus; son, Rick (Katie) Givens of Omaha. He also leaves 6 grandchildren: Dana Givens of Columbus; Jackson Bray and Nicholas Bray of Omaha; and Alex Givens, Casey Givens, and Emma Givens of Omaha.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
