Larry L. Anderson

Larry L. Anderson, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Born to Francis and Leata (Rasmussen) Anderson in Minden, Nebraska on April 4, 1938.

Larry grew up in Minden and Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and then returned to Kearney where he received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Kearney State College (now UN-K).

Larry married Janice Hagge on October 7, 1956 in Shelton, Nebraska.

Larry taught English for two years at Callaway High School and thirty-two years at Columbus Senior High.

He began painting about fifteen years ago and after retirement became a prolific and eclectic artist. He and Jan moved to Lincoln in 2003 and following his grandchildrens sports became a major source of fun for him.

Larry was a former long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus and currently a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Survivors include wife Jan, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Carol and their children McKenzie and Kyle, sister Gwen McCune of Hastings, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Dale Merryman of Kearney, Terry and Theresa Hagge of Gibbon and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Greg, infant daughter Susan, his parents, sister Marlene Merryman and brother-in-law Lloyd McCune.
