Kristen Aase

July 30, 1968 — September 29, 2025

Kristen Aase, 57, died September 29, 2025, at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation is 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, at McKown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Linwood Hill Cemetery.

Kristen Aase was born July 30, 1968, in Schuyler, Nebraska, to George and Carol (Brabetz) Karpisek. She attended North Bend Central Jr./Sr. High School and graduated with the class of 1986.

She married Randall Aase in 1989, and they had two daughters, Erin and Sydney. Kristen was an avid reader and a passionate fan of Nebraska football and volleyball. She loved to travel around the country to beautiful national parks, but her favorite place in the world was her back porch, watching kittens play. Her greatest love, though, was her husband and daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Randy, of Shelby; her daughters, Erin of Omaha and Sydney (Ethan Heermann) of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters and brother-in-law Cynthia Ault of Ocala, Florida, Robin Timm of Aurora, Colorado, and Kelley (Mike) Fujan of Wahoo; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kris was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kimberly Spaugh; and her brother-in-law, Larry Spaugh.
