In the quiet early morning hours of July 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family, Koreen (Wolfgram) Nye passed away. Koreen was attended to by the wonderful staff at Brookstone Acres and comforted by her children, grandchildren and extended family and cherished friends.
Koreen (Wolfgram) Nye was born January 12, 1943 in Laurel, Nebraska to Elmer and Ruth (Kuehl) Monk. She graduated from Winside High School in 1960. Koreen married Arnold Dean Wolfgram on June 19, 1965 in Madison, Nebraska. The couple lived in Winside and Madison before moving to Columbus. Her warmth and shining spirit was felt most in our community through caring for children in her day care. Many of those children and parents still maintained contact with her and her daughters who helped her. Through the years she also worked for General Telephone and was a teller at the horse races. On October 4, 2003 Koreen was united in marriage to Earl Thomas Nye in Columbus. Koreen's church home was St. Bonaventure where her faith was nurtured and set a wonderful example for her family and friends. Her life was bountiful with the varied interests she pursued such as her love of Elvis Presley music, cookbooks, travel and her special coffee group. Her favorite trip was visiting the Amish Colonies. Koreen also enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos. She looked forward to getting together with her morning coffee group every month and spending time with her grandchildren.
