Kimberly D. Knapp

Kimberly D. Knapp died Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Kimberly Dawn Knapp was born December 10, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. When she was 2 weeks old Kim was adopted by Rollen and Jean (Kidd) Knapp. At the age of 9 months Kim was already walking. When she was 5 Kim was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia. Little did Kim know that at age 15 she would not be able to walk. Kim attended school at Trinity Lutheran in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from grades 1-3 and Gordon Public School in Gordon, Nebraska from grades 4-9. She attended Osceola High School from grades 10-12 graduating in 1989. Kim went on to graduate from Wayne State College in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science. Following graduation she lived in Columbus until 1998 when she moved to Omaha and lived at the Beacon Heights Living Apartments. In March of 2013 Kim moved to the Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed playing games on her computer, music and was an avid reader. Kim loved Mountain Dew, Diet Coke, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Chocolate Chip Cookies (which were her favorite). She collected "Mary Moo Moo" Cows and also liked cats.
